Today we bring you a very personal project from the young Jenni Bea. All of the images are from a series of hers which she has titled “Unknown Female”.
“I have had an interest in photography from a young age but had never considered it as a career. In a state of boredom and confusion over my future I enrolled on an A-level in Art & Design Photography at my local college. I soon discovered the power an image has as a tool of communication and it has helped me to express myself. I have just completed a Foundation degree and will be going onto a BA Honours degree in September.
“The images represent negative events which have happened to me following a difficult childhood. The destinations are where some of these events occurred and the text layered on top of them comes from my medical records.
“I plan to continue ‘Unknown Female’ when I start a BA Honours degree in September and eventually consolidate the images into a book. Sort of like a visual autobiography.”
Jenni doesn’t have a website as of yet, but we do hope she does make that book.
If you want to see more from her, she does have a Flickr page which can be found here.
