Lukasz Gajdek
We talked to Lukasz Gajdek about his motivation behind being a photographer and his work:
“The story behind these photographs is quite simple. I am a positive guy and I like to add humor to things I do. On the other hand like many blokes I like men stuff, you know, cars, action, explosion etc.

“So one day I was watching this overly exciting film and I thought – let’s add some action in my real life. Inspired by people like Annie Leibovitz, David La Chapelle and films like Snatch I decided to keep it funny and classy. At this time I was working in this clothing shop in Wolverhampton and guys there were more than happy to cooperate when I said that I want to rob their working environment (obviously they knew I meant a photo shoot).

“I asked around and after getting a green light we did this. They brought suits, bags and shades as props. I had a classic robbery story. They walk in, they take stuff, they realise main entrance is blocked by police, they run away through the back door and well, in a meantime they jump from roof to roof. That was probably one of the funniest and coolest shoots I ever did.

“Thanks to those photographs I met some interesting people who inspired me to pursue this style and I definitely will. In future I hope to work with big creative companies where ideas like this one, are sold. For now I need to arrange a double-decker bus, a museum and a night club. Anyone?”
