The Human Condition

Peter Miller

Brighton Pier – Peter Miller

“I love photography, keen on street work, I also enjoy seascapes and all things by the sea, I just tend to shoot what interests me and catches my eye, the human ‘condition’.

“I do have a web site just for fun, as is all my photography. I use smugmug and flickr also under inpics.me, you can view my efforts there.

“While taking photos, most of all, I look for light. I use a full frame rangefinder Leica M9, with a 35mm lens. Very simple set up, but rangefinders are wonderful to use, the zoom is my legs, simple and to the point.

“The two colour shots are sunset images, all taken this year, one of the west Brighton Pier the other West Mersea. Just a beautiful time of day, great light, so peaceful, who wouldn’t want to try and capture it?

“The mono images are London, the man on his own is Covent Garden, he seemed alone and just waiting, in a busy place. The other is Holborn, quick break with a coffee and a smoke; once again it’s the low winter afternoon sun that gives the high contrast and atmosphere.
