Paul the psychic Octopus has died

Today we bring you a photographic tribute to the 8-legged wonder.

Paul , the so-called octopus oracle , is presented with a jersey at the Sea Life Aquarium in the western German city of Oberhausen July 22, 2010. The octopus on Thursday was nominated as the favourite friend of the Spanish town Carballino. The octopus became a media star after correctly picking all six German World Cup results including their first-round defeat against Serbia and their semi-final defeat against Spain. Paul also predicted Spain's World Cup victory over The Netherlands and Germany's victory in their third place match against Uruguay.
