‘Weather’ Photography Competition
Congratulations to Emli Bendixen who took this fantastic, lovely photograph to win theprintspace’s ‘Weather’ themed .
The judges said about Emli’s photograph, “This must have been a hard shot to capture, driving on what looks like a motorway in the torrential rain. Love the way the water sweeps under the tyres as the clouds cast an unfortunate prediction for the drivers day. It is somehow melancholic.”
A worthy winner.
And well done to all the commended entries…

Breathtakingly misty, mysterious and wonderfully captured shot. Imagine being lost in this eerie landscape.

Really like the deep and rich colours in this shot, and way the light doesn’t seem to quite match with the sky. Wondefully windswept crops make it a lovely piece of work.

Love the content of this shot, and ice cream is probably something we all crave in bad weather at one time or another!

Not the greatest of compositions, but the beauty of this shot is how we can relate to it. This could be any residential street in Britain, and the streams of sunlight beaming onto your road is the most beautiful sight first thing in the morning. Well done.

There’s something almost scary and imposing about this shot looking up at a tower through the storm. The rain adds a sort of tragic effect to the shot.

Great colours in a rich and deep, yet imposing sky. Really love the way this has been captured and the questions raised around darkness to light.

I see this photograph as being through the eyes of any of us on a lovely English summer’s day. Lying on the grass, not a care in the world, sun poking through the trees. A lovely, heart-warming memory.

Cold and wintery, lovely shot of the snow. The way that the trees are almost capturing the snowflakes, makes it lovely.

Stunning skies across a valley, really good use of light and colour as the clouds gather in the sky, ready to be pushed away by the sunshine.

Absolutely beautiful shot, reminding me somewhat of Miracle of 34th Street. Lovely light, a sort of vacant, cold look to it.

Eerie and grainy, doing really well to capture the competition’s Weather theme. I love how it is difficult to see where the sky stops, the road starts and the mist continues onto the grass. Lovely.
